Water Jet Cutting Systems

Waterjets cut metal by using a very high-pressure steam of water combined with very fine sand like abrasive. A water jet can be used to cut virtually any material from paper, to steel to granite.  Compared to Laser and Plasma, waterjet is slow. Average cut speeds with one head will be around 90% slower, but like Plasma, it is easy and economic to add extra heads to increase speed. With waterjet there is no heat-affected zone. By cutting to a high degree of accuracy on thicker materials, one can often avoid a subsequent machine operation. Farley also offers a combined Plasma and waterjet that will provide speed when you need it and accuracy when that is the main requirement.
