Plasma Cutting Systems
Plasma Cutting works only on Metals. Plasma is fast and accurate but not as intricate as a laser or waterjet. Plasma is the technology of choice when the requirements are for cutting with accuracies of between ±. 006" - 020" (±. 15mm-.5mm) or worse, OR the material greater than ½" (12mm). Plasma is as fast as laser on the metals 22 Ga to ¼" (.75mm-6mm), and faster on materials thicker. A big advantage of Plasma is that it is quite economic to add extra torches, and so cut multiple parts at a time… this then gives plasma a huge speed advantage.
