Special Purpose Machines For Fabrication & Plate Processing
Farley has the capability to team up the resources that are required to take on a range of special purpose needs that may arise around Cutting or Processing Plate, sheet metal or other flat products.
One example is the Plate Cutting system installed at Swedish Steel. This system has been designed to be operated with one person, and can process 240,000 tons of Hardox material a year.

The system is equipped with 4 High Speed Plasma cutting heads, 4 High Resolution Cameras, which scan the incoming plate as it is brought in by conveyor. The plate scan is sent to the order entry computer, which then figures out the best way to nest the orders on hand. Creates the nest and sends the program back to the machine which then cuts the plate using the 4 heads, which are all independent axes.
Another example is an automated garden tool line, where the steel is uncoiled at one end , the parts are plasma Cut and then conveyed off to the next process and the scrap is recoiled onto a scrap reel.
